There are a lot of reasons why most couples don’t get to go on as many dates as they would like to. Time is one that people don’t have a lot of now days, in between juggling work, children and running a household you often forget to make time for each other. Another problem is simply not knowing what to do together! After being in a relationship for a significant amount of time t can seem like you’ve been on the same date ea million time. So I decided to try and help you out, here I have put together a list of date ideas to get you out of your date night rut.
- Cook Together
This is one a lot of couples don’t think of, usually one person in the household takes over cooking duties. Cooking together can be so much fun, you not only get to spend that quality time together but you can also save a ton of money by cooking at home rather than splashing out on a swanky restaurant.
2. Go on a museum date
I know what you’re thinking – BORING! That’s what I thought too but I decided to give it a try and I’m so glad I did! There’s something about walking around a museum with your loved one that just feels so intimate. There’s so much to look at and so many interesting things to learn. It also opens the door to conversations you would never normally have.
3. Go to a bar together
This one could get expensive depending on your alcohol tolerance, but going to a bar together is the ideal way to let your hair down. Most bars have live performances and this is a great way for you to make new friends to double date with. So let yourself go, dance until you pass out, get gloriously drunk and stumble your way home with a greasy kebab and enjoy the hangover in the morning.
4. Play a game
Got an old board game sat in the corner gathering dust? Put it to use on your next date night and get competitive!
5. Go on a hike
If you and your partner enjoy more physical activities then hiking is the perfect date for you – lace up your boots and spend time just you, your loved on and nature.

It might seem childish but scavenger hunts are so much fun! Working together to solve riddles and find clues. Put your brains to the test.

Not only will he love your willingness to try but most men love a woman who can play a sport – but be sure to let him win, you don’t want to to damage his ego.

A classic romantic date, go to an ice rink, skate hand in hand and allow him to feel like a hero saving you from falling, or show off your moves and perhaps teach him a thing or two.
12. Go on a local ghost tour
It may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but ghost tours are great fun. Learning about the history of your town and folk law whilst searching for lost souls, you may even see a sceptic turn into a believer.
13. Go bowling
Get competitive with your significant other, even if you need to raise the bumpers. Why not make it a double date? The more the merrier!
14. Have your own film festival
Choose some of your favourite films, get some snacks, grab your duvet and snuggle up on the couch with your partner – what better way to get some well deserved cuddle time?
15. Go camping in your own living room
Take yourself back to your childhood, collect as many sheets and blankets as you can find and build a fort. Toast s’mores over the fireplace whilst you reminisce – all the fun of camping without having to pee in the woods!
16. Go stargazing
It’s so romantic it makes you want to puke. Find a hill to sit on, stare at the stars and talk about the universe, try to spot as many constellations as you can (you can even download and app to help) – don;t forget to wrap up warm!

This is a lovely post! Although I’m not in a relationship now I know how repetitive it can be, it’s a constant battle between wanting to do something but already done it all! Great ideas, I still think making your own camp and having a movie is the best!!!
Me and my ex also had a chocolate tasting night which was hilarious, we grabbed tonnes of it and just worked with it (blindfolds included) and cooked a wonderful steak meal after with a movie
Much love – Becky – http://www.eyeful-events.com x x
